The horror
Not only is it godawful, but someone defiled a beautiful piece of Lane cubist MCM furniture to create it.
Nothing can make Louise XV or French Provincial style furniture look good IMHO but trying to combine that style with MCM is a sin against good taste of enormous magnitude.
Complete horrorshow that goes well beyond WTF.

It's um unique.
I can actually see that piece working in some settings. Certainly not mine though.

I don't think that's a Lane piece there. Their cubist furniture has a different scale to the individual elements.
The "antique" part doesn't look authentic, either. Furniture of that era wasn't made of wood with a grain like that, at least not that I've ever seen. If the piece is indeed real and not computer art, then I'm guessing it was just made that way from scratch.

I actually like the grain on that french armoire. Sandblasted oak?

I like the grain too, I just...
I like the grain too, I just don't think that it's an original antique piece. It doesn't quite look like oak, and sandblasting would have damaged all those little carved bits, I would think---if it's even real.
Tinyarmada, do you have a link to the site where you found this?

Here's the link
Yes, found it here: http://www.lyring.com/unique-dresser-furniture-design
I believe you all are right about it being an original piece. I really wasn't paying much attention. It was very late and I was going thru image results trying to ID my dresser and happened upon that pic and instantly thought WTF - so I added it to the thread. So much awful "upcycled" crap is out there rt now I didn't even question it.
My hate of French provincial and overwrought Louis XV style furniture knows no bounds, so when I saw it combined with what I thought was an actual piece of the Lane cubist stuff I like I was horrified.
I admit the sandblasted grain on the faux antique side is cool, but that's the only thing I can say positive about it. As an originally designed piece, IMO, it's trying way too hard. However, Im sure others will disagree with me.

A no Guchi table....
Wow, a real 'GUCHI' table! Obviously, this is two times better than a Noguchi table.
