If irony, sarcasm, and double entendre are lost, what's the point?

Okay, I get your point.
I'm now frustrated by a conversation I'm having in another thread
*bangs head against wall and goes off to make a cup of tea

Please, do it in something that doesn't
look as though it was meant to hold biohazardous fluids.

This all reminds me of this (see link). First time I read this 4 or 5 years ago, I laughed so hard I pissed my pants a little.

Yes, but not just that.
I think that other barriers, as cultural ones, in these cases, are even more important to try to understand us.

Of course, gustavo.
I'm willing to try with almost anyone, but a meaningful discussion comparing merits of one design versus another requires a somewhat established and common vocabulary, does it not?

That still all begs the question of whether or not Jesgord can be trusted to use an iPad in his egg chair without sitting on a protective plastic cushion liner.

They make special undergarments
for people with that condition, I think.

Non-native speakers
often make language errors that seem absolutely hilarious to native speakers, especially the first time they're encountered... But you get used to it after a while, and it's less funny when communication with people who don't speak your language is actually important to you.
Also, of course, even the worst English I've read has always been better than the best Mandarin I can write. I try to remember that whenever I get the urge to mock anyone else's inadvertently-comical ESL.
None of the above, however, will prevent me from pointing Jesgord to this site:

I thank god I was born in the US because I would really hate to learn English as a second language. There are more exceptions to the rule than there are rules. It is an awful language!
But yeah. There's some funny stuff out there.
(Also, I got laughed at mercilessly in Denmark a few times for my attempts at Danish. So.)
