Non-native speakers
often make language errors that seem absolutely hilarious to native speakers, especially the first time they're encountered... But you get used to it after a while, and it's less funny when communication with people who don't speak your language is actually important to you.
Also, of course, even the worst English I've read has always been better than the best Mandarin I can write. I try to remember that whenever I get the urge to mock anyone else's inadvertently-comical ESL.

I thank god I was born in...
I thank god I was born in the US because I would really hate to learn English as a second language. There are more exceptions to the rule than there are rules. It is an awful language!
But yeah. There's some funny stuff out there.
(Also, I got laughed at mercilessly in Denmark a few times for my attempts at Danish. So.)
