came across a lane coffee table with drawers, and end table, and a nightstand for a good price. all of the pieces are in decent shape, and will be lovely with some gentle refinishing.

i've done some digging around re: refinishing these, and most folks seem to be sanding and staining. i had thought that howard's restor-a-finish (walnut) would do the trick nicely. am i wrong?

below are some pics of the coffee table.

If you are gonna refinish those....
use chemical stripper and then refinish....much easier than sanding....but to be honest....that inst all that bad from the pic...have you tried lemon/orange oil or maybe steel wool and wax might be all that you need.

Restor-A-Finish will work if...
Restor-A-Finish will work if it's just a clearcoat issue. You'd want to use the "Neutral" color. If you're debating sanding / stripping / restor-a-finishing, try RAF first, and proceed to more difficult methods if RAF fails. I'd skip the cloth and go straight to steel wool, but that's just me.
