Hello,
I bought these 6 chairs shown in the pictures. They are stunning. The quality of construction is fantastic. The rosewood is very, very beautiful.
They are marked with a embossed Koefoeds mark..(I will add a picture, my camera is dead)
I have researched them extensively and want to see if anyone can confirm the information I have found.
What I gather is that they were designed by Neils O. Moller for Koefoeds Mobilfabrik.
However the same chairs online are said to be designed by Niels Koefoed? or by Koefoed.
I assume this is a misattribution due to being marked with a Koefoed mark but no Moller mark? I understand Koefoed to be a manufacturere right?
Although not a 'woodie' of any kind...I have always appreciated good 'wood' 😉
I must say, the 'knuckle' joint on those captain chairs makes my knees weak.

Any comments welcome,

Danish Furniture Index...
Danish Furniture Index confirms my suspicion that it is a Niels Koefods design for his own company:
link inline since it won't work in the URL field: https://aleph-01.kb.dk/F/BKJ8B2F88BX9T3EDIQH6KUXFX84IY775K4RSG8V6EJAYGRC...

interesting, the internet is littered with attributions (sales and auctions) of this chair to moller!
is the design index considered definitive?
also, sorry for spelling error I thought it was koefoed also liberally sprinkled across the cyber world!

The Danish Furniture Index is...
The Danish Furniture Index is reasonably definitive. There are known errors, and suspected errors. But in this case there is a literature reference: Mobilia 1968 no. 154. Say I would say this is pretty solid. (Of course, It would be more solid with a scan of the page...).
And, furthermore, I've never seen a substantiated (or credible, IMHO) attribution to N.O. Møller for a design produced outside of J.L. Møller's Møbelfabrik.

I have access to a very similar set of these chairs. My great aunt purchased them in 1972. they still have the tags from the furniture store and a date from when she purchased them. Identical except they are clearly marked Svegards Markaryd of Sweden. No idea if they are authentic or early reproductions. Something to look for.

LIS
the chairs you have are called LIS and I have seen them many a times.
There is no link between Moller and Koefoeds as it would be like Ferrari designing cars for Lamborghini!
Koefoeds are also still in production. Link below.
