One big problem on the knock-off benches is the wood color looks way off on most. The All World one we had was way off and it didn't give the same feel as the HM. Even after years have passed, we still regret all the knock-offs we purchased at the beginning. If you jump for the one thats 10% off, make sure it's free shipping and no tax.

Yeah, I agree with others as the Nelson, LCW, and Eames molded chairs are the most reasonably priced MCM pieces. But if you're interested in a lower price point than that, try:

i bought one of those Alphaville nelson bench's for my office, and they were pure D crap, fell apart
I had one of my carpenters take it apart and completly put it back togehter again with screws instead of cheap staples, looks great and you can set a elephant on it now,
They were just being cheap
but one thing i can say the wood was great on it,.

Did you ever check out the homeofficedesigns website listed above?
If you're in the US, I'd check when them first....they often have clearance pieces at a great savings.

I did call them....
48" bench for $599 was the best they could do...
