lol, It just occured to me that the Jetsons was one of the things that when I was a kid really turned me on, whenever I saw those apartment buildings I'd get very excited, anyone else have anything like this?

I was partial...
to the pneumatic tube they used instead of elevators. The Jetson's anticipated cell phones, robots, space age styling, etc., etc. The architecture of the Jetsons also took Corbu's inverted massing beyond Corbu's wildest dreams.
However, I never did figure out what a Spacely sprocket was actually for. No one rode bicyles in the Jetsons, so they couldn't have been for bicycle sprockets.

I think I was just a surly little kid who found the alienation of living in a tower appealing.
Ah what the future could have been, does anyone know Jacques Fresco? He's a great conceptualist but whenever I see those images I allways wonder...who stacks the shelves in the supermarket?

Not sure of the sp but that what Jane called it. Of course we all know value: "Spacely Sproket the Sprocket that's Easy on the Pocket"

details
The ground was mostly parks. Grass, trees, rolling hills, a very idyllic Paolo Soleri kind of future. "Astro" was only pronounced "rastro" by Astro due to his speech impediment that caused him to start all words with Rrrr (a common cartoon dog disability). George did on occasion smoke a pipe but by then the tobbacco was somkeless and probably cured erectile dysfunction thus accounting for Janes perpetual pleasant demeanor...

Please, since the dog calls himself Rastro,
then we must respect his pronounciation. It was the humans who had it wrong.
The big question to me about the Jetsons was: where exactly did they live? It was never clear to me what continent they were supposed to live on, though because they spoke English and it almost never rained, I always assumed they were living somewhere in the Southern California above the smog.
Finally, ever since one of you showed me that link to furniture designed by the guy who designed the alien monster for the movie alien, I have longed for some designer to design some Jetson furniture. I am especially partial to George's and Mr. Spacely's desks. Gogswell Cogs CEO also had a nice one as I recall.
