Both, probably, although I don't know why you'd assume Italian?
Looks like pretty decent "contemporary" fine furniture in mahogany, a box with some drawers and some doors, made by a "better" company in the same general category as Henredon or Drexel.

it comes...
out of an italian household. they had bought the whole furniture in the 60ies. there are more of identical mahagony furniture.
thats the reason why i know it is italian.
did you have a further Suggestion?

Why is that trash? Looks like a very nice mid century modern piece to me and the pulls look very unique. I don't know about it being Italian but if I saw that I would get it too.

trash
maybe this is a kind of knock-off furniture from the 60ies. i think there was a lot of companies who made furniture that looks similar to those high end pieces from ponti, buffa, mollino and others. the same way as today the big companies like to one with the yellow four letters made it.
but i like the sideboard very much, looks very intresting and well made.
i am trying to find the person or producer behind this piece. maybe someone has seen a similar piece.
thanks

Just because something isn't...
Just because something isn't a designer piece does not make it trash. I have a very nice modern American made credenza from the 60s. The tambour doors on it are lovely and extremely well made. I got the piece for a song because the person didn't think it was worth much since it was a real designer piece. I would have paid much more for it as it is a very nice quality piece. It's definitely NOT trash just because it wasn't designed by the likes of Wegner, Eames, Nelson, etc. They all made some duds also. Judge the piece based on quality, design, and condition...not designer name. I have a mix of designer as well as non-designer pieces. I buy what catches my eye as long as it is well made. That said, I do not do knock-off pieces. You will find no Burke tulip table here. Give me the real Saarinen tulip table. If it is not a knock off of a designer piece, then I have no problem buying it.
Anyhoo, that piece listed above does not look like trash. No, it is not designer but looks decent. I would say midish quality just by looking at it. It also seems in decent condition from the photo but who really knows unless you actually see it in person. No, it does not look designer or high-end, but it does not look like trash either.

And a piece is not a...
And a piece is not a knock-off unless it is copying someone else's design. Building a non-designer piece of furniture in the MCM style does not mean a piece is a knock-off.
