I was wondering why Italy in particular became renowned for post-war lighting. this document goes someway to give an answer. Any other thoughts?

Italian Lights.....not ice
I've found one or two Italian lights in my restoration of them. I find their designs much more cutting edge than any other country....The USA comes close....but then again they could have been looking at the Italian designs

For some reason
there were many lights being produced in the Netherlands, during almost the whole 20th century.
But in the fifties and sixties firms like Anvia, Hala, Hiemstra and Raak produced many cutting edge designs.
Now there is not much activity in Holland anymore, if I'm not mistaken.
The west of Flanders, in Belgium is a region well-known for lighting. Designs were being produced in-house the last 30-40 years or so, but now many go bust or sell-out.
I believe the ones that still exist move their production to china and other countries...
