Every ones point is valid ...
Every ones point is valid and makes good sence
It is impossible to tell what something is with out all the information , if this were a game of clue it would have been more fun, but Dots not wanting us to know what the object is makes it more difficult and to be frank pisses us all off, as we are only trying to help him, and not trying to snake him, outbid,cheat,or steal this object? I think this whole thing has got out of hand and is rather immature
I think we have better things to do then guess the object,
clue 1 is it brass? clue 2 Is it bigger than a bread box, clue 3 animal mineral vegetable etc etc etc,
Depressing
This whole thread has gone beyond drama and is approaching macabre. Dots lost me way back when she/he happened to have a microscope just lying around.
In an attempt to lighten things up a bit, I'm going to try to post a picture directly after this paragraph. This is only a test because my normal copy/paste routine is not working on this forum and I'm absolutely terrified to ever post another reply without a picture attached. Here goes.
it looks like metal....
it looks like metal. sterling? I need scale. It could be a bead judging by
its left ear indent. Is it for sale? I need that for my avitar...
It is often complicated to post photos. Congrats. This forum does not have a
preview button so you can always go back and edit and try again.
It is time to leap out of the sandbox. (on this post)
(I fear we will get a million dollar full photo taken from some other object)
This is an odd one to re-read without the dots.
BTM had an earlier comment that was very dead on;
...'here's why. If we had a complete picture of the item, it might be recognizable as being from a particular artist or "school" of artistic endeavour and that might instantly provide you with the answer you are looking for as in a fellow DA poster responding: "Oh yeah that piece is from the sculpture studios of Mr. XYZ or from GoodArt Foundries...'
