what is the difference, I'm wondering because at the moment i'm studying an interior design degree at the Surrey institute, however my tutors usually say it should be called interior architecture.

My friends confuse it with interior decoration which i don't like to be associated with, so i usually say I'm studying interior architecture.

I was just wondering if people had any opinions or thoughts as to what the difference is

My BFA
reads "Interior Architectural Design" (or it did, until destroyed years ago, by mold !) -- and I still don't really know that that is. . .
I do know that it's a good defense against being called an "interior decorator" ! Perhaps one has a better chance of working for a firm of architects ?
Anybody ?

They Self Define
You'll notice some of the best work comes from folks who self-define both ways.
There is frisson between the professions. Architects think decorators are morally weak and decorators think architects are too consumed with the volumes to do a furniture plan.

SDR, I can always count on you for good laugh...
Your degree consumed by mold. Tears are running down my face. Thank you.
