i've compiled a lot of films over the years and am looking for more interesting and efficient ways of storing my library.

DVD concept
You need something that allows flipping through pages like you can on the iPhone. Reading just what's on the case spine is often insufficient but that's how most CD based system were designed. A tilt out paradigm would solve the problem as well but lacks the elegance of page flipping. You have a horozontal row of DVDs on edge, as you push on to the left or right it turns sideways/moves forward to display the full front or back of the case. Any mechanical engineers out there listening?

Horizontals - Pastoe, gorgeous but pricey (250 EUR for anthrazite a few years ago, silver is less)
Nils Holger Moorman, the book stacker (assuming pocket books and DVDs = same size) http://www.moormann.de/moebel/regale/buchstabler.html

The Bookworm would be...
The Bookworm would be suitable for blue-ray discs For every Bookend the shelf can support 10kg, bookworm comes in 3 lengths: 3.2m (7bookends) 5.2m(11bookends) and the daddy 8.2m (17bookends).
Another posibility could be a shelving system that someone on this forum kindly identified last week for me. see attach link

Personally I think "the closet" is the best solution. Easy.

I second..
I second that motion, the closet if fitting! My wife and I have about 25 and put them in one the DVD albums, the also have room to store the front and back covers. We found the cases annoying and dumped them.
