I just bought a pair of Barcelona Chairs, with a bolted frame, chrome plated steel with seven leather straps on the back and 6 leather straps for the seat support. The straps are stitched.
Beautiful welting on the seat cushion.
There is a stamp under the legs of the chairs that says industriaargent na.
Does anyone have any idea of when those were made?

They have now dropped the bolts and moved to a solid welded frame. they are the only ones to make the chair out of Argentina. in rough spanish, INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA means "made in Argentina." today they go for $740. yours was probably made in the mid-late 90's when they started. This is just one of the many companies across the world making repros of this chair. the chair is less valuable if it is bolted together rather than welded.
