3 really crappy things about this listing.....
1. The shift in responsibility for accuracy: "Previous owner believes corporation purchased them from Design Within Reach around 2001, although this statement has not been authenticated."
2. The huge Artifort Bio, including company pics of Paulin.
3. Can you sense the irony in this statement? "* NOTE, eBay's Online Freight Calculator Is GROSELY INNACCURATE *"
Mr. or Mrs. kryptik494, you are why people are scared to buy on eBay, and make things tougher for legitimate sellers (the rest of us).

Just a quick google search, and I found a site that sells them for $90, with free shipping. Though I'm pretty sure if you look hard enough, you can find it for even cheaper.

I had already sent him a message threatening to report him. I don't know if I can really get anything accomplished with that, but I tried.
I actually have seen these on ebay several times as new from some crappy company. They used to sell them in pairs. I don't remember the price but I think it was in the 100's to low 200's for two! I also remember seeing them at some store once, and I am almost certain it was Target.

Here are excerpts from their negative feedback. They only have under 2% negative, but I would say with these remarks that's enough!
"Stains on "new" fabric on chairs, photos were misleading, completely ripped off."
"No CD in case. Seller claims doesn't know where it is. Gave up. BE WARNED!!!!!!!"
Their response:

Haha! Who would buy a Cd case with no CD in it!!!!!
Get a Life People
Seriously, are you guys just scouring Ebay to find listings like this to post here to feel included? 🙂 Come on. Who cares?
Some sucker will not buy them. A person into Artifort or who knows Paulin isn't going to get tricked into this one. It is my feeling that people who know modern classics, KNOW a fake.
To send them an email and threaten them....boy oh boy. Let the market work.
I sometimes wonder, as design addicts, are we sometimes just pissed that the same designs we paid thousands for can be had for nickels and dimes? I would feel that way if there was a reproduction Porsche. I just don't get that feel from modern classics or any home goods though. I guess there aren't enough people in my life that know classics to validate the ownership and praise my coolness for owning originals.
Smile!

No No No! It might seem small and yes compared to all the other things in the world it is but to a lot of people here design is a proffession and a passion and not just an oppurtunity to go shopping and show off. Think of it like a chef or nutriotionists attitude to the average persons diet.
This sort of rubbish for sale anywhere, here ot Target, is steadily eroding what the term 'design' should infer.
All the good work that patrons and governments and designers and academics have put into the industry is being diluted.
These parasites are capitalising on something they contributed nothing to and have no understanding of.

Turbo, it's not enough to know our friends aren't likely to be taken for a ride. As those in the know, don't we owe it to the neophytes, like any innocent and vulnerable citizens, to warn them of danger ? Or do we only care for our own hides.
It's for the good of the hobby (to say nothing of the profession) of collecting and trading in vintage furnishings, that impostors and frauds be exposed. . .isn't it ?
