how can I renovate alvar aalto birch faced plywood?

After a lifetime of constant use the stacking side chairs model 611 have a worn surface and uneven colour, the sideboard has some water marks, unsightly on the plywood door, nice patina, shame about the shabbyness. How to renovate, suggestions please!
