i know this may seem a tad unorthodox and maybe even a little in bad taste....but i have an interview tomorrow with a Design/Fabrication company called Amuneal...this would be not a step, but a leap, towards my aspirations and ,after 2 years of extremely trying times ,is the first ray of hope that has glared across the tattered veneer of my life..so please fellow design addicts- fingers crossed....thank you....

Good luck.
And, don't forget to send a thanks-for-the-interview/ I'm interested-in-the-job email afterward. (This ritual seems foreign & unfamiliar to most people under the age of thirty, in my experience!)
I'm the person who interviews at my place of work-- after fitting eight interviews into my normal work week, when the interviews are finished I can barely remember who was who, they all melt together.
A well-written thank-you email expressing interest, enthusiasm, and how your experience is applicable goes a long way in making yourself stand out! You're in competition with others, remember.
It's amazing how few people do this today-- when I was their age we had to type, print, address an envelope, affix a stamp, then carry the letter all the way to the mail box.
Instead, most candidates email an idle query the next week, asking if I've made a decision. (Yes-- I've decided that you have lousy job-hunting skills!)

Loose as a goose
Interviews are lost and won by mentality more than anything else. Just be yourself. But don't be afraid to go in there with the cockiness dial turned up a half a notch or so.
Good luck, mate.

this may seem trivial
matty,
It may seem trivial, but make sure to present a good appearance. Clean pressed clothing with shoes that accept a shine (leather) and are shined. Manicured (cut and clean) nails) and brushed teeth. Anyone who overlooks these small details will more than likely overlook small details on the job.
Make your best attempt to answer all questions (even the negative type) with a positive answer. Relax and smile. Practice this if needed.
I have always found it helpful to know as much about the company as possible and also important to know their competition.
Present yourself in a value added way.
Good luck.

Just relax & be yourself.
Nervous-wreck interviewees are difficult to interview.
Relax, talk about yourself, ask lots of questions about their business. Scrutinize their website & familiarize yourself with the company-- that's bound to supply you with some honest, intelligent questions. If you're personable, perceptive, and conscientious-- what's NOT to like?

Cockiness dial turned up a notch
Lunchbox,
Should I ever desire to work for a living again do you think it would be a good idea for me to turn up my cockiness dial a notch? Should I take the Ark with me to smooth things out and break the ice? I hope this makes you laugh.
