Hi,
can anyone offer some assistance ? The marble top to my much loved Saarinen Tulip Table was damamaged by removal men over the weekend. The edge of the top has been chipped when they dropped it.The deepest chip is about 2 mm.I believe that they should replace but they insist on seeing if it can be repaired.Your thoughts would be hugely appreciated.
you're in the driver's seat
i would be inclined toward seeking out the opinion of a reputable monument company that deals routinely in marble. i'd also make a call to my lawyer [yes, i am american] since something like this has the potential of getting rather sticky in a hurry. it seems reasonable that you would be entitled to a restoration or replacement that is suitable to you.
good luck to you in the process. and remember, if you keep hearing "no" from your opposition, what they're really saying is "you haven't made me hurt enough yet." somewhat tongue-in-cheek here, but persistence and insistence most often pays off.
