yesterday i was at a flea market and saw an eliel saarien side chair for $65. I walked away for 5 minutes and when i came back someone else had purchased it, but i'm still curious as to what exactly it was and what it might be worth.
in short, it was a white straight armchair with some small carvings and an upholstered seat. it was a newer chair (maybe 80s/90s) with a stainless label in the underside of the seat 'eliel saarinen for....'. I believe it was adelta, but i'm not certain
i know of 4 or 5 eliel saarinen chairs and, although it looks similar in it's very square form i don't believe any that i have seen have any carvings. it could be a chair that was greatly mass produced and isn't worth more than $65, or it could be a very rare chair. i'm definitely curious
