this afternoon i came across a mid century desk (all walnut i believe) with a light attached/built in to the back (thin stainless pole with canvas round shade). the owner said that he believed it to be herman miller, possibly by george nelson. any insight?

You Tube George Nelson Museum Exhibit
There is a wonderful video on YouTube of the Vitra George Nelson Design Exhibition a few years ago. A George Nelson Desk like you described shows up in the video as I recall. It really focuses on the furniture rather than the clocks. Anyone interested in Mid Century Design will be entralled!
