Nice
I noted one of those Prober sofas at the most recent modernism show in L.A. A friend has one from Thayer-Coggin with a difficult burnt orange wool. His has the same mirrored plinth base, which was a brilliant touch. It is different in the cushions and attributed to Milo Baughman.

Panton circles would be a tad much IMHO. Don't they have Girard checker in a number of hues? Perhaps the orange and yellow patterned checker for the seat with a solid matching orange top. The colors would still be the bright ones you prefer, but the pattern would be quieter.

maybe it is me but for so...
maybe it is me but for some reason and i have redone
a lot of furniture as a hobby and business
I have always felt funny using Girard Fabric on any thing other than Herman miller furniture,
when I was starting out and excited to get a account with Maharam , I bought some purple panton geometric and put it on a a series 71 chair, I felt that chair is somewhat on the traditional side and that fabric is just way out there, to say the least it is not my favorite,
I think we ought to have a design addict contest to find the perfect fabric for my new probber sofa, My wifes first comment was why do we need it? we just got a perfect
Baker sofa in Tangerine,
I guess I am always searching for the perfect pop 60's look , back to the warehouse.

I would love to go to one of those show I am thinking about going to Palm Springs in Feburary it looks like a great show, and good weather that time of the year, was the probber that you saw at the show just like that, do you remember how much?
I heard from a friend that was at the NYC modernism show last month that Paul Evans, Harvey Probber,
Kagan,Tommi Parzinger were the hot kids, people were drueling for their stuff, These guys were the 60's even thoe they were around in the 50's

No I don't remember the price at the show. There's a T-C, also a 3pc., available out here for just under 3k. I worked opening night at the Palm Springs show last time around and, loud bad music not withstanding, I had a great time and the drive between here, the coast, and there is an exciting mixture of Californias most deadly highway stretch (really), open desert, mountain truck route curves, and a field of mamouth windmills. I will be there again this year though I'm not sure yet under what capacity. Let's talk again, closer to zero hour. P.s. Anyone, I'm still hoping to learn a production date on that time-life lobby chair (see recent thread).

what is your favorite
after looking at everything from Maharam fabric
Fabricut, S.Harris, and several others, these are the
two finalist in the Harvey Probber, sofa
I am having a real rough time selecting the right one, which one do you like

The top one would be stunning if you had a C.Jere "Raindrops" metal sculpture
behind the couch.A bit more Hollywood Regency look.Otherwise, the ameboid shapes in the bottom swatch are most appealing, attractive and easy to live with.

If your coming in from LA you can take the 10 which is plain sailing right through to Palm Springs, if you come in on the 60 then its quite undulating and hilly, good fun in the day but a bit hair raising at night!
If your looking for somewhere to stay the Parker is worth a look, beautiful place with amazing interiors and gardens

Would it be
too much to suggest the the piece be upholstered in one of the fabrics originally specified for this sofa ?

Under the Microscope
My vote is second picture, amoeba pattern. Versatile decorating around it.
The top pic, abstract circles, is too Gustav Klimet (sp?). I like it, but it'll be harder to work around. If you want it to POP, go for it.
