good stuff
I will tout any store that sells good mnodern and reproduction furniture, to prevent people who read this forum from getting ripped off my crooks out there.
The only way I know to reward the honest stores is to speak out tell the community about good honest people who care about there customers and still are able to make a buck.
This store has all of those.

cont lucifersum
.. Would it make you happy if innocent people in the USA got ripped off by some lousy companies like " This is furniture" , in England and now they can not collect a dime , and have been out money for months and have to try to go to there countries better business bureau to find help.
Stores like 2 B mod and furniture fancy need to be rewarded with praise when they do good.... Companies like White on White and Sleek spaces people need to know when they don't live up to what they say they are going to do. and companies like This is furniture needs to be shut down for being out and out rip off artist.
Let this serve notice that I will
be the one person whether any one likes it or not who will expose any phoney sellers of modern furniture on the Internet or off. If this pisses off any one who thinks that this is promoting furniture that has be reproduced by designers of last 100 years so be it,
I would rather save someone from throwing out thousands of dollars rather than
seeing that some dead designers company
gets a .25 cent royalty that they
have more than been compensated for over 65 years. If you don't like it .... too bad someone has to look out for there fellow man if they are not able to. .

I would ask that if a link is put on here it should be accompanied by an explanation. I have absolutely no interest in repro / knock off furniture and consider its production to be at best morally questionable. Moreover I find the way it is often sold - ie with the fact that the item is an unlicensed copy submerged in the small print (at best)- morally repugnant.

Watching out for someone getting ripped off by promoting a knock-off/rip off website is hypocritical. I appreciate your desire to make sure that a website is being honest and following through on their clientelle - but that honesty doesnt go very far if you're promoting stolen designs. Thats what this gentleman is doing. He may not have stolen the designs personally - but he is selling them - thats just as bad. And I think a good number of people would agree.

THAT IS THE MOST BULL CRAP I HAVE EVER READ ON THIS WEBSITE "BUT THAT
HONESTY DOES NOT GO VERY FAR IF THEY ARE PROMOTING STOLEN DESIGNS!!
WHO ARE YOU TO MAKE STUPID COMMENTS???? IF THE OWNERS OF THIS FORUM WOULD POLL PEOPLE WHO ENJOY THE DESIGNS OF THE MID-CENTURY DESIGNERS... I
GUARENTEE THAT MOST PEOPLE WHO READ THIS FORUM AT ONE TIME
OR OTHER HAVE PURCHASED SOMETHING THAT WAS DESIGNED BY A DESIGNER THAT HAS BEEN REPODUCED.
IT IS SO IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL EVERY TIME,AND FOR YOU TO MALINE A SHOP OWNER CAUSE HE GIVES GOOD SERVICE AND HAS GOOD PRICES IS JUST WRONG AND STUPID, MOST PEOPLE STARTED READING THIS FORUM CAUSE THEY ENJOYED MID-CENTURY MODERN
FURNITURE AND DESIGN . I KNOW YOU AND PAULANNE ARE THE RARE ONES THAT ENJOYS THE STIMPULATING TOPICS , BUT WHO CARES IF YOU AND PAULEANNE ARE NOT INTERESTING IN REPODUCTIONS IT IS FACT THAT MOST DO ENJOY THEM AND HAVE PURCHASED THEM SO WHY NOT LET PEOPLE KNOW WHO SELLS GOOD ONES AND BAD ONES .
IGUESS YOU GO INTO THE CLASS WITH
PITA, ISLAMIC MILITANTS, HISEDICS,
PEOPLE WHO ONLY SEE WHAT THEY WANT AND ARE NARROW MINDED TO OTHERS WAY OF THINKING.

Impossible
LRF - yes, sometimes things are expensive and out of our means to afford. What happens then? You dont buy them. Just because you WANT a product to be cheap doesn't mean that it should be.
And just because lots of people want a product to be cheap, doesnt mean that it should be. Trust me - I want the Eames lounge chair to be within my means - but I wouldnt buy a knockoff because it wouldnt BE an Eame's chair. No amount of circular logic will make it so.

However I do have a theory...
However I do have a theory that knock off sellers, having made the moral lapse of selling this stuff in the first place, are consequently more likely to commit the moral lapse of ripping people off. As for their customers ....if people deal with the confederates of theft should they be surprised when they are robbed?

I have been blessed and ...
I have been blessed and have all orignial furniture , no reproductions in my home collection, my office and warehouse are different , I have several reproductions . I hate to tell you i have no remorse or guilt about
owning these great reproductions., So everyone who comes through my office doors can enjoy them .
Some people just enjoy the designs of the Eames Era... and that included
Plycraft and Selig which i own both
They do not even look close to the Herman Miller but I still like them and don't kick my self that Charles Eames did not design these two chairs( In my opion they really are more confortable to sit in. they at least rock back and forth ) you are just to critical !!! there is nothing wrong with owning a reproduction. i doubt that you can afford a orginal mies Barcelona chair used for the 29 expo around $100,000 if you could find one, so what do you do .What makes knolls any better than the Alphaville ? nothing. knoll did not get the rights till the mid 60's to distribute the Mies chairs.
mies was making deals with lots of companies to distribute his chair before old firend Florance knoll talked to the owners of knoll and they put it is the line. are those chairs made in the late 50's and early 60's prior to knoll reproductions and you would not own them ? The same with the Le Carbusia chairs before Cassina got the license .
