I wish there a serious specific though wide ranging design/art/technology search engine.
You can urn off personalised results, yay! There used to be scroogle but its gone. Was struggling to get good stuff and less ah populist information, was constantly getting the same old crap or image results from knock off sites or chain store stuff. Any tips? I'm sure its worse now than it used to be.
Autocomplete can be amusing, stacking shelves...jobs, thankfully those days are passed.

If you're getting personalized results,
you're doing it wrong.
If you don't NEED to sign in to google, don't. Delete any existing google.com cookies from your web browser and configure it to reject all new ones.
If you DO need to sign in for some reason -- to use Gmail or Google+, or to upload to Picasa or Youtube or whatever -- then use a separate browser (I like Chrome for this purpose) that IS configured to accept google.com cookies. Use it ONLY for the Google services that require sign-in; use your main browser for Google search, Youtube surfing, and everything else you do on the web.
If you just want an alternative to scroogle:
