Our house made a lot of progress this week. The concrete floor/radiant heating is in. The septic tank and underground electrical/water/gas is also in. Today the wood for framing was being delivered and the framing starts going up on Monday. From now on the place will morph into a house pretty quickly. It's a blast to watch, I've never been through this before. Its fun!

Excellent Olive. Good to see your home is now taking form. Gotta love the big wide open! Given me a little envy after experiencing multiple unprecedented nightmare travel times in Chicago. You got a little slice of heaven brewing there=)

I just noticed the cord running from the bottom middle of the photo to the home. An interesting link between the home and yourself.

Giggle...
actually I am standing near the main power feed at the street and that's just a line to run power for the onsite tools. Interesting thought though...
Next pix I post will have the framing done, then it will really start looking like a house!

Yeah, this is pretty exciting, all right!
And I can totally feel and see the completed house. It exists in my head completed, furnished and art hung. Seeing the minds eye become real is a whole bunch of fun! There is SO going to be a party! Anyone from DA who wants to make a trek to Santa Fe is absolutely invited!

Olive,
have you got any neighbors or is it as pristine as the photo suggests? Remember, no spousal fighting!

Yes and No, Riki
Take a look at some of the posts on the blog, especially the older posts of the little town we're in. I can definitely see other houses and I do have neighbors, but my view is rather pristine and will remain such cuz of the way the development is laid out....which is the truly cool part...that view makes me swoon.

Very exciting
I'm jealous. It's looking good, and progressing quickly!
Is geothermal an option in your area or is passive solar the best route?
Love the big sky vistas.
