glass pendant lamps -- any green bulb alternatives?

I am considering a gorgeous hand-blown glass pendant chandelier, but I'm troubled by how non-environmentally friendly incandescent bulbs are. Is there any alternative that retains the filament look, or if not, that works in such a lamp? Or should should I forget the whole thing and go with a frosted alternative?

Yeah... But in this case, I'd just buy the incandescent bulb. Use the LED/CFL/whatever bulbs in lamps for which the glowing filament isn't part of the design.

wouldn't worry about it too much, if you really want just compensate for the extra energy use by being a little more conservative with other things in the house.
I've tried all the new light types except for led and nothing is as good as as a candescent for reading at night, can't buy them anymore so have a draw full of them that I'm rationing.
