Hi All,

I recently purchased a replacement glass part for my chandelier -- but I cannot figure out how to disassemble the connected parts in order to replace the broken glass. There are no screws/glue. The glass parts are connected to the chrome piece with a metal cylinder that is attached by a metal piece (photo attached) -- I tried to pull it apart but it doesn't seem to budge. Any advice?

The part holding it all together is called a 'push-on retaining ring' and is not designed to be reusable. Disassembly requires prying away some of the 'teeth' that grip the central metal tube/shaft. In the US, replacements may be found at better fastener distributors like McMaster-Carr.

These can be tricky to both remove and install without proper tools, however. Considering the fragility of the adjacent material, it might be better to take it to a lamp repair specialist.
