Hi! I've been searching the net trying to find if my sofa can be of France&Son. I just find pictures that are similar, but not the same. Do you know something about this model? I'm about to sell it so it would be good to know 🙂 Many thanks!
I'd Say.. Not
the first thing that strikes me is the legs. The France & sons legs are turned, not flat.
I think that's just a trick...
I think that's just a trick of the light. The sofa on the right seems to have turned legs, doesn't it?
Possibly
I've seen that corner table in the US before though, it's definitely American made
thanks
thanks for all your answers!
im still a bit confused though, in a well known auction firm in Stockholm Sweden they said it was danish from france&son.. (the legs are turned, not flat and i'm pretty sure the wood is teak)
I very much doubt What you have there is produced by France & Son. Your sofa set is incredibly similar to the Minerva set designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Molgaard Nielsen for France & Son, this is where the confusion arrises.
France & Son pieces will always be marked.
Here is the sofa
that's causing the confusion, but I think you can see the difference in the framing of the arm?
Also the differences in the corner table?
I found this image which could be the corner table. The dealer describes it as unattributed Norwegian.
