In the process of spotting houses for my grandparents I stumbled upon a little villa, sort of cottage what seems to be filled with furniture from all different ages.
Peeking through the window I saw two 'finn juhl'-like coffeetables (like a nest, one fits below the other).
the structure resembles these ottomans, with their legs 'coming free' at the top, making it almost float:

I had no camera, not knowing if I would contact the owner I already made a small sketch (sometimes I have this urge, as to make the thing my own 🙂
With the tables comes a sofa and two one-seaters, executed in teak and (i think) green mohair velvet. The legs are fitted in the same way as the tables.
But the top is something else, rather strangely formed...
Do you got any idea? Who could have made this?
I hope I'm not bothering you to hell, guys. It must get annoying, seeing all those requests to identify yet another piece of obscure furniture..
I only recently have began apreciating mid-century design. As my own taste matures I grew fond it's elegance, material and execution.
Thrilled with the enthousiasm aparent in this forum, I can't help to show you the things that keep my mind and eye busy.
Don't know about the chair, but the table
I've seen several that have a similar design, including:

I agree, -10 points for the water color sketch!
From now on, anyone who think they've found a treasure on Craigslist, must present their findings either in the form of a water color sketch or bronze-maquette; to be considered by the addicts.
The table also resembles some of Greta Grossman's later designs for Glenn, although the chair doesn't really look like anything she would've made... I have also seen a coffee table by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mölgaard that had similarities..
Would not have guessed the...
Would not have guessed the sketch would generate so much response. I'm almost sorry for it's rough quality now (smile)!
The table and it's structure indeed reminds of the work of several designers. I think Risom maybe would be to bold, tends to work more with even, untapered legs?
The chairs and the tables form an undeniable unity, but apart from their legs the chairs really keep me baffled..
If i'm being honest, the design of the chair seems to me lesser well-proportioned (i don't know if the sketch shows that) it's really a rather weird design. But for some reason it fascinates me..
Thanks for the avid response, links and pictures, piece by piece i'm puzzling things together 🙂 !
Lovely!
Beautiful sketch. And full of information. With such a keen visual memory
i'm sure you will find the set with a little searching...
And the help from others like above.
could it be a Niles Voder/Finn Juhl colaboration.?
The suspended arm...always loved it. Have never seen one in person.
Could the chair be this?
Could the chair be this?

Yes indeed, the suspended...
Yes indeed, the suspended arm, but these chairs take it to a whole new level! The armrest, wich seems to be thin planks of wood are flat-on fixed to the upholstery. They start this way on the front of the chair and take of to the back, going upwards and releasing themselves from the upholstery (sorry for my poor english, my explanation must sound almost biblical sometimes..).
The upholstery leaves almost a gap, very strange..
Alas, it's not the swivel chair whitespike 🙁
If I can't take a picture i'll do a detailled drawing of the armrests.
The tables are really more like this FinnJuhl, less complex than the floating tops by Risom:
Maybe it lacks the...
Maybe it lacks the refinement of a finn Juhl piece.
Here a detail of what the legs looked like, it's like they are carved on the top and softening in form downwards.
The oddity of the chairs make me think it's a local (flemish-belgian) interpretation of a finn juhl/risom-like design.
But I remember I liked the quality of the wood and the coherence of the legs, both tables and chairs.
