I think the coffee table is the footrest.

cdsilva, thank you. It's great to have the opportunity to have a look at this material. The reason I have asked is that there is guy selling a Jupiter with a matching footrest, but that must be really from the Bwana, at this point. It's not cheap so I am not decided yet...

Leif, I guess you are correct as well, but I would not like anybody except me to use that table to put the feet on :-).

Thank you and best regards

Ernest.

Today I saw a similar footrest of the bwana but not with a Juhl Jupiter, but a rocking chair from France and Son. Curious that the design was so similar !

And I think that rockig chair was from Ole Wansher. So the question is whether the Bwana footrest is similar to a Wansher footrest produced by France and Son.

Cheers

From an online search it looks like that rocking chair had a different footrest. So what I saw in that shop was a Wanscher chair with a Bwana footrest, same leather and perfectly matching. Might be they got it from someone who went to a shop back then, and decided to make the match. Or maybe they proposed the match at the shop.

Cheers

So going back to my original post, this is the second time that I see a Bwana footrest not with a Bwana armchair, but with a different chair from F&S. this leads to the idea that back then, going to a shop, one could buy the Bwana footrest as separate item (?).

Yes, you could buy the footstool for the Bwana separately. Footstool in general in Danish catalogs were completely separate items with their own model numbers and entries.
