Was in a thrift store today and saw a chair identical to this, I knew it was something but was so tired I didn't really think about it. It was very sound. The legs however were solid tapers that were glued into a very solid frame, no bent laminations at all, very much like the chair with arms below, any ideas? It was 10 bucks.

Weird. You should go get it...
Weird. You should go get it at that price, even if it turns out to be some kind of copy. I'd like to see it.
Could it be Thonet? The armless version of this?

It probably is one of those but the furniture buying has to stop, I have two spare rooms full of furniture that just sits there slowly decaying, 1/2 of it is just good anonymous stuff that is interesting, Its starting to drive me crazy and I just want to see the back of all it. I've got these pretty rare Aarnio chairs + sofas which by rights should be worth a bit but they are not the easiset on the eye... bonfire!
Whatever happend to my fantasy of a leather beanbag and a tolomeo existence?
