any advice on removing the upholstery and foam? I wouldn't see it as much of a "nisht-nisht" if it was a late 70's stacking chair with worn/ rained upon upholstery (as happens to be the case). Is it pretty easy to get the foam off?? Anyone done this? Was I wrong in thinking this isn't a "nisht-nisht"??

It isn't that easy
The foam is quite a bitch to remove. When they glued it down they meant it to stay there! A friend and I tried on an old ruined shell. We never finished it, although perhaps there is a certain chemical that could clean it off more easily. The main reasin we quit is that we discovered that padded shells have holes in the seat to let out air when people sit.
