I just received a new catalogue at our design studio and it was from Ethan Allen .. introducing there horizons studio collection , I can not speak for the quality i have only seen the pictures. i can tell you People this is not your MOM and Dads Ethan Allen
You purest and holy grail folks out there that refuse to get near fine repoductions cause you feel you will be taited, or cursed . go by and take a look it seems to look more upscale
than IKEA and West Elm, and Pottery barn ..
one set of chairs looks like Milo Baughman and Florance knoll got together on a chair .. but they did not steal
any ones design works... another table looks like Warren Planter had some wisdom on this table. and another looks like George Nelson slim credenza with dark wood.
My hats to this sleepy old company they are trying to reinvent themselves and i think they are on the right track

All We Are Seeing Here..........
All we are seeing here is the gradual acceptance of what most of here consider to be good design filter into the mainstream
The 'antiques of the future' are on the cusp of actually being antique and considered 'worthy' by the mainstream, admittedly a step up from the 'we threw that out' mentality, but there is still enough vile output from that company (I have no knowledge of them, being in the UK) for me to know they are trying to ride a trend..
Shrewd maybe, but I would question who's gonna buy them?..
..they are not even repro's..
Just 'slighlty reminiscent's'

happy birthday to Robert 19...
happy birthday to Robert 1960

This is one of the best statements all day cause it is true....
Nothing more boring than OLD Ethan Allen furniture even the name speaks of the revolutionary war Ethan Allen (January 21, 1738[1] – February 12, 1789) was an early American revolutionary and guerrilla leader during the era of the Vermont Republic and the New Hampshire Grants. He fought against the settlement of Vermont by the Province of New York, and then for its independence in the American Revolutionary War
Nothing was more painful than
furniture that they produced in the early 1960's called Early American . why that company chose the name Ethan Allen is beyond me they should have weighed a little longer and maybe called it Charles Eames
