Doing some x-mas shopping for the mother. Humbly request feeback on the Erick Magnussen carafe. How well does it retain heat over 24hrs?

Other suggestions?

Hi Woofwoof
I can not give you a graphic illustration over 24 hrs but I can assure you that 24 hrs later it is cold. Compared to most thermo jugs, the Stelton is not worse or better. The self opening stopper is not a very good closure as far as insulation is concerned but youy can buy a threaded stopper with it and that improves the performance.I have two a red one in ABS and a stainless steel one. The plastic one is slightly better and I seem to spend a lot more time on keeping the stainless spot free. Again, I do not think you can expect a bettre performance from any other glass liner based thermo jug. I am sure your mother will enjoy the coffee for hrs but certainly not 24.

Appreciate the feedback Koen. Twenty four hours does seems a bit excessive, but we all know Mothers have peculiar little habits. She'll alternate making a full 12 cups using half and storing half. Strange, but at 70yrs with a variety of health issues, can't blame her.
Again appreciate it, I know she will.

Stanley Aladin
My Stanley 'Aladin' vacuum flask keeps coffee hot for 24 hours, and I noticed when looking for an image that it's being afforded the status of 'design classic' (ie been in production for 20+ years) so it probably ok to buy for your mother!

Ah, those thermos are a classic. I recall she once admitted that if she didn't pursue her doctorate, she might have tried being a cross-country big rig driver. Perhaps a perfect homage to secret dreams we all carry.
