Dearest paulanna,
I have a bike (or two) in all 3 of my residences. All are made by Trek, as a good friend has a decent job with their company...and sells them to me cheap. The above bike is a road bike (obviously). I refuse to wear the dreadful polyester attire, but because of the pedals, I have to wear special shoes. Yes I wear a helmet. The 2 bikes on Palm Beach are also Trek...but more of a hybrid, I guess. They weren't nearly as expensive as the white model above...which is quite light weight. I ride most every non-rainy day, usually around 15 miles (takes me an hour)..nothing serious. I'll take a snappy of the two bikes that I have parked in my foyer. South Florida has no hills, but the local bike paths are stunning.
Best,
Old Mark
ps do you ride?
(edited to add a snappy) The bike closest to the bookshelf is what I use when grabbing a few items from the grocery store (it has an insulated cube on back). The black bike is my favorite.
.
Yes I ride + race (vets league) for my club. I think you'd find making the jump to proper cycling clothing liberating. Its not like you are shy when it comes to your attire is it? Maybe something from Rapha? Very expensive which is a plus. I've still got my old Trek frame in Lance Armstrong Discovery Team colours in the cellar.

Trek & Stella
Aunt Mark,
I ride both a Trek and Stella. You should put this on "Air B&B" with a deep discount for DA folks, just sayin.
