Anyone know who designed this purple sofa? I just saw one almost exactly the same on ebay (blue one), except it had three bottom cushions(& three top) unlike this one with the fairly unusual two bottom cushions with three top cushions...the one on ebay said it was early florence knoll......
here's one on 1stdibs....
just found one listed on 1stdibs...it says it's florence knoll

This is easy for me, I have...
This is easy for me, I have studied these sofas for a long time to recover one, and buy another in perfect shape.
There were 3-4 lengths of this available, the standard lengths were 90 inches wide, with 3 pair of legs. The 2 seater is 63 inches wide, with 2 pairs of legs.
There were several leg options. Tapered birch, clear and painted. Square shaped walnut, clear finish. Also metal tubing in chrome and brushed or satin chrome.
There was a special about 72 wide, with 2 pairs of legs. I saw that on ebay. There was a really long one, at 120 wide and maybe 4 pair of legs. I saw the long one in Chicago at Modern Times.
The one in your flickr has been poorly recovered. It looks to have 2 pair of legs... is it narrower than 90 inches as measured outside the arms? The seam on arms is wrong, and the cushions are always the same number on the top and bottom.
The original design was attributed to Florence Knoll. Though it was probably her guidance. These are really subtle sofas, and the comfort is just great. Its the direct opposite of the new overstuffed furniture crap out there now. I love mine and believe it proves that foam on top of coil springs, is the best suspension method for all furniture!
