Upper one is 1960-1999, lower is 2011-present.

The earlier label was far more elegant.

I must respectfully disagree with fastfwd that the upper label is from the 90's but not much earlier than that. At least that's my impression.

I was thinking graphically/stylistically the first label looks more 1990s than 1960s...

kin1117, do you have an example of a 1990s label that's different? I just checked all my Eames pieces, but unfortunately all the labeled ones are from 1999-2010, so they have the M-in-a-circle+"HermanMiller" logo.

Hi.

The Herman Miller label beneath my little Nelson bench is different than the labels shown above. Probably a fake.

Fastfwd, now that I think about it, did you enter a typo when you wrote 1960-1999? Did you mean 1990-1999? If it wasn't typo, the following would be my answer to your question:

If my memory serves me well, there's a silver rectangular label with Herman Miller written on it that would appear on the 670/671's in the 90's and the early 2000's. I don't think I ever saw such label on the plywood series though. All the recent productions of the plywood series I've come across would have either of the 2 labels shown on this thread. Of course, the vintage examples would have a wider range of labels.

@Mark - Your piece is probably just an earlier piece - if you post a picture of the label here I can take a look?

@Fastfwd - what is the M-in-a-circle+"HermanMiller" logo you are referring to thats for the plywood pieces 1999-2010? Is it this one?

Humbug, please don't take our Aunt Mark too seriously. I assure you he doesn't he have anything fake.

I haven't been able to load an image... But I think you are referring to the circle with the M in the middle and Herman Miller circling the edge - I've primarily seen this on Eames Lounge Chairs in either silver or black and silver and it looks like a recent label to me, I've always assumed 90s but would be nice to know the usage dates more specifically.

Gosh kin,

I sorta have a fake tooth! Long story. I sold the original.

Best,

Aunt Mark

kin1117: Sorry; what I thought I wrote and what I actually wrote were two different things. I meant to say that the HM logo in the top photo was in use from 1960-1999. DCWs using that logo could only have been produced, of course, between 1994 and 1999.

humbug: The " M-in-a-circle+'HermanMiller'" logo that I mentioned was used from 2000-2010. It's the stylized M-in-a-circle as seen in your original post's lower photo, with "HermanMiller" next to it (uppercase H and M, no space between "Herman" and "Miller").
