Today I went to house up for sale.
Inside were some true diamonds, several
modernistic ceramics for instance.
But what really catched my eye were these
two eames shell chairs.
Shells are parchement, the base is a cat's cradle
(chrome) and the upholstery seems an Alexander Girard
design, consisting of egg-yellow and vanilla triangles.
All original and bought early sixties in Brussels
(maybe Herman Miller had a store back then?).
I rarely see eames designed furniture come up here in
belgium, so these are quite the find.
The man is willing to part with it, but is waiting for
the house to sell first....
Is this model special, or sought after?
