Any info?
Just picked up an orange shell from an architect who says it was in his office for the last 30 or so years. H base, small shocks, H logo with the words Herman Miller embossed under it. Backwards letter B and exact flame logo pictured above. Does anyone have any more info on this logo? I searched the web and past threads on here and came up with nothing. Thanks for anyone's help they can provide.
Eames Office
I'd reach out to the Eames office. They probably have an answer.

Subcontractor mark
The additional embossed marks: a C with a star, Two triangles overlapping (not the HM mark) and the double flames are marks of the subcontractors Herman Miller used to produce the shells.
If you search the term Cincinnati Milicron in the forum you'll find some very detailed threads about the subcontractors.
However, I don't think anyone has ever provided the exact name of the company who used the overlapping flames.
a recently discussed dealer
on ebay and etsy has a chair for sale that she says includes both the summit overlapping triangles AND the flames embossments on the same chair. (I believe the listing is current, and there might not be a picture of both logos together, just the verbal statement that it is so.
I have never seen that before, but if it is true, it has to mean that the flame logo is from summit, and probably circa 1955 to 1959.
I do not know anything else about the flames logo.
edit: update. Here it is One messed up chair indeed. Some horribly applied coating, a drill hole, shock repairs.
With close ups of only the flames, but not the triangles noted, I am now betting this chair does not even have the triangles. The Herman Miller raised letters makes this a later shell. Probably 60s.
Only 1300.
Sheesh.
