hi all,
the casters on my contract base are not moving freely due to some fabric debris/threads that got pulled and stuck between the wheel and the hub.
i suppose i could try to pull the fabric debris/thread out bit by bit and then cut them loose to untangle them. but is there any other more efficient method that you can suggest to get rid of the fabric debris/threads?
can the wheel be removed from the hub and put back?
thanks,

I don't have any Eames...
I don't have any Eames office chairs but I have had various type casters on the chairs in my sewing/upholstering room over the years. They do get amazingly clogged with threads.
Some casters can be pulled out pretty easily, but I've found that a pair of thin-bladed, sharp scissors and maybe a hemostat or a tiny hook made of wire is all that is needed. Cut the threads in several places and pull the loose bits out with the hemostat or hook. It is usually a bit slow at first but then you will be able to get most of them out in a big hank or two. It doesn't take me more than a few minutes per caster most of the time.
(And yes, I always vow to keep the floor swept better, but somehow that never works in the end.)
