For the record...
I was never disagreeing with the possibility that the rounded tabs may have spilled over into the second production chairs. My point was that there couldn't have been very many as the design wasn't a hit right off the bat. And for the record as well, tynell went from saying he'd seen "a few examples" to "at least one", which makes more sense. But the point again is to consider the source.
Looks like the chickadees are coming home to roost...
for Modernamnesia. A few buyers have now complained about their undisclosed meddling. And their recent cross strut rocker didn't exactly blow the doors off pricewise.

I don't get that at all...
I read some of the very negative comments in the feedback too. People saying "SHAME" and some other not so nice words but yet it still says they left pos. 100% feedback??? How can that be? I do see one guy who complained of a "clearcoat" was refunded but the guy who was really pissed and crying Shame - don't see any remedy there.
Finding out some one can have justifiably pissed off buyers, leaving negative comments and still have a 100% feedback rating up shocks me. Also, sucks because it means anything I consider buying on ebay, even with perfect feedback I will have to carefully read through all the comments to get to the truth of the matter.
I despise sellers like Modernamnesia - esp because it makes you question even the really honest sellers out there. Also isn't his name a bit of a Freudian slip or inside joke?
(He has amnesia when you asked for the truth about all his incredibly rare, perfect condition modern furniture)
im convinced that he makes...
im convinced that he makes the rars...how would he be able to find that many to restore?...I mean you make a mold and get your shit figured out and you can crank them out...hes making around 10,000 a month lol think about it...$100,000 a year to sit in his garage pressing chairs and refinishing legs off ebay...guy has it made and a sweet job ( not what I want to do but 100,000 to stay at home sounds nice).
Tom
There are buyers who aren't that knowledgeable, just like the look of MCM, and they have money and believe that the higher the price, the more prestige attached to the item.
There are also sellers who knowingly cheat and then offer incentives for the buyers NOT to leave negative feedback. I'm pretty sure Ebay tries to prevent this but it's hard for them to do anything about it. I bought something once (not a high end item) that I thought might be fake but hoped that it wasn't. It was fake. I complained to the seller and he said he'd do X, Y, and Z if I would refrain from leaving negative feedback. I'm sure that's why he still had 100% positive feedback.
The beginning of the end
...and the 'House of Cards' begins to fall - first negative posted, and with some venom to boot:
