I was quite interested to follow the recent discussion regarding Modernesia's LCW legerdemain on the eBay. I noticed he had several new items up and wondered if there were any comments.

Origin Eames rocker?
As Asawa predicted. A new base?
According to Modernesia: The original Black coated Zinc rod base has no signs of heavy use and there are no bends, breaks, rewelds or worn finish areas. The original Birch wood runners are very clean and are free of any chips, cracks, damage or repair. They do show some typical finish dryness and minor bottom/tip wear consistent with age. All hardware appears original, is fully functional and authentic to the 1st production era.

The crook strikes again
The Malihini buy and upgrade scheme with Modernesia selling another too good to be true Eames rocker.
I see he's using more fake labels on the pair of DCWs.

Sorry, I am blond!
Now I really understand how it works.......Malihini buys and Modernesia does the "work" and sells. Apologies Asawa. But is one of the shell chairs from Malihini the same as the "authentic" rocker from Modernesia?
Can somebody tell?

So I guess his MO...
... is to buy perfectly decent to really good pieces and dress them up as truly exceptional pieces? Surely such an obvious deception as buying one thing under one account, blatantly and deceptively modifying it, then selling it under a different account would warrant some action on the part of eBay.

oops, I didn't mean to start a new thread
Checking eBay's selling violations...
They don't seem to include fraud or false information as a violation of their policies, but they do say
"Misrepresentation of identity: Members can't misrepresent themselves as other eBay members or eBay employees. While members can have multiple user IDs, those user IDs can't interact with one another. For example, members can't bid on or buy their own items or leave comments on their own Feedback Profile."
I wonder if these two sellers are violating this rule???
Well, as we used to say in the 70's about AT&T - their motto is "We don't care, we don't have to." That might apply to eBay today.

There might be an Eames bubble!

Ebay rules aside, this...
Ebay rules aside, this behavior constitutes criminal fraud in every jurisdiction in the US. Inasmuch as they are transporting items across state lines, it would also fall under federal jurisdiction. Lets hope the right people catch on soon......

.
Can I suggest that someone does something there seems to be alot of people upset at this sellers dealings so why not act. Then atleast the rest of us would not have to read these frankly boring discussions.
Also while I am at it there has been a few threads set up recently naming certain sellers as crooks or worse these witch hunts always make me feel uneasy and it will only be a matter of time before someone who is singled out acts which could potentially hurt the design addict site?
