Bought a drexel headboard at an estate sale. Headboard has 2 naugahyde backrest and arms the fold down. Has 3 white buttons, one of which lights up when you plug in the cord attached to headboard. Has some wires that have been cut so I don't know what they go to.Can't find a place for a bulb which was my first thought. Anyone know where I can find information on this very unique headboard??? Thanks.

Yes. Very similar. Dark wood with black naugahyde. Has a black plastic back which someone cut holes in the bottom at the ends though I'm not sure exactly why. Can you tell me if there is any way to restore it and if it is even worth it? I'm having buyers remorse at this point. Thanks
There is a way to restore anything
It's just a matter of how much trouble and expense you are willing to go to.
Whether it's worth it is up to you. Can you use it in its current condition? Can you use it even if you restore it? Is it the right size for you, and does it meet your needs?
While I'm not familiar with the exact model you refer to, if it looks like either of the designs that I posted pictures of I think it would make a handsome, comfortable and useful piece. Nice vintage modern beds or headboards are difficult to find, especially the queen and king sizes.
FYI, the two I posted images of are Wormley designs for Dunbar. You said yours was Drexel, but I knew that Wormley did some designs for Drexel and I wondered how similar yours was to the Dunbar headboards.
Again, I don't see why you'd have buyers remorse if it is useable condition. As a rule, headboards are not highly collectable or hugely valuable. They are functional furniture pieces. If you found one that has a nice simple, functional, modern design and is well made at a reasonable price, I'd say you did good.

I will try to post a picture. I just don't know what the wiring was for. There are 2 switches behind the armrests on the outside ends. Also, in the front middle of the headboard is a 12 inch empty square that may have held something, if you feel in the top of this square there are 2 places to plug something in. Maybe a clock? I agree with you that it is a functional peice, I just wish I knew how or what the wiring is for so I can fix it. I am sure it is drexel because the chest that matches it has it stenciled on the back and when I took the plastic back off the headboard, the drexel tag fell out. Thanks so much for trying to help me with this. Haven't found a thing about it anywhere.
