I spray-painted the rosewood shell of my ES671 semi-matte black and it now looks entirely appropriate to my eye. It's mine. I paid cash for it. It makes me happy in its painted state. Is there something inherently wrong with that?
Oh, and Daniel? Can't it be argued that production furniture was never "art" in the first place?
Got it, Daniel, but now Heath has gone
and made light of my own awkward fashion and I fear Mark might rescind his offer of that cocktail as a result.
My ottoman needed to be black to match my chair, which came from HM that way, but I put a couple of wash-coats of shellac on it before the paint so it should be easier to reverse, if ever needed.

🙂 I'm sure we can keep things sweet, no real problem with paint here, like it in many ways, it's the colours and combinations above that are unsightly.
If the point is to extend the life of something (some veneer is so far gone theres not much else that you can do) surely black, white and conservative colours are the way to go?
