hello

I've read several threads about this subject on the forum.
however I can't seem to find how to disassemble mine.

the reason why I want to take it apart is because it's sitting very loose on the aluminium base.

as you can see in the picture it's missing some screws. In the picture there are 3 screws still in place, but recently another one came loose and now it's very risky to sit on.

I've read about a c-clamp or spring clips that needs to be removed to separate the base from the seat. however when I look at mine I see a black rubber ring that's around the pin. I can't remove the rubber ring without cutting it I think.

But if I would remove it. Would the c-clamp be located under there?

could anyone help me further?

thanks

Circlip
Have a look if there is a groove at the end of the shaft. There should be a circlip ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circlip) which fix the shaft. You will need a special tool to remove.
If you remove this clip it should be possible to pull the seat shell with the shaft out.

hello
I took a close up...
hello
I took a close up picture from the shaft to show you guys.
as you can see there's a rubber ring around the shaft.
maybe the chair has been dissasembled once before and fixed with a rubber ring instead of the normal way
I think it's an authentic one made in the sixties. I've shown pictures to friend who know more about this and he was pretty sure it was a real one. it certainly feels and looks like a real one. though you can never be 100% sure.
