Very happy with my set up
It's not a designer anything. The table is a custom piece done by a guy named Doug Green. He uses no nails, screws or glues to assemble his pieces, only mortise and tenon joints. And the wood is FSC-certified. The chairs came from Room and Board. I like them cuz the are sturdy and generous and work well for my giant family. When most of your guests are well over 6 feet tall and not skinny, you need sturdy chairs!
I've been very happy with this arrangement. It's beautiful, functional and doesn't look like an advert for Knoll or Cassina.
Use
I use Eames fiberglass side shells at the kitchen table because they're comfortable, classic, and pretty to look at. The dining room is making do with a pair of DCMs, but I would really love a set of Brno chairs.
I think Brno is a lovely combination of modern simplicity, understated elegance, and actual comfort - all at the same time serious enough to use as a formal dining chair.
Too many of the classics have a sort of casual feel to them. Oh.. my other favorite of choice would be Wegner wishbone chairs!

I am leaning towards DCM's....
I am leaning towards DCM's. Pros and cons of these? I have never used them on a daily basis but I like the feel of them.
I like the DCMs uprightness whereas my Bertoia's lean back a bit and have a low back. I also prefer chairs with no arms (visually) and with no upholstery (upkeep). The house I may move into is all concrete and glass, so I also like the idea of switching to wood.
Do you find it hard to pair a wood table with DCMs?
Not at all...
I have a solid teak dining table and the walnut DCMs blend nicely. However, I think any other wood finish (e.g. birch, ash, or cherry) would probably work as well. I mix wood tones all over with no problems aesthetically.
Regarding durability, I think the only major thing to be careful about is putting weight on the back rest (e.g. using it to get up out of the chair).
