Hi,I am wondering if anyone can id this sofa and or has seen this style of daybed before and if so how it works...I just cannot get it to make sense.I could not manage it myself because both sides of the seat have to be pulled at the same time and both ends of the back cushion lifted at the same time ...tomorrow I will have some help and I can take some more pictures of the seat pulled forward..as well as the burrow track that it moves along inside the boomerang shaped side frame and of the back cushion removed off the two slots that hold it on each side in place on the back of the couch.Intuitively I thought you took off the back rest...pulled the seat forward and then lay the back cushion somehow along the seat to extend the 'bed'width and make it into a day bed or sleeper...but it does not work...once you pull the seat base forward and remove the back cushion there is no support to lay it flush with the pulled forward seat to extend the 'bed'width...there is nowhere to put the cushion that makes sense and provides a flush supported surface so you can lay on it....This may have been bought in Edinburgh late '60sIf I can get an ID maybe I can find a thread showing the method... thanks for looking

well objectworship so good to hear from you
I already have a mid century day bed I have chalk painted then shabby chic-ed and installed said LED cupholders on that I am super happy with so I think I may just leave this one be...
the mystery of this one and the reason for my inquiry is that the back cushion does indeed lift off the frame and conveniently slide in and out of slots... clearly designed to be removed and replaced....what is not clear is where it is meant to go once lifted off and how that facilites the design of the piece and the dual function it was meant to have as some kind of pull out.
The somewhat easy removal of the back (you say it takes two?) might have been more a feature for easy assembly at the factory than one for consumer benefit. Your other daybed sounds awesome please pintergram it or whatever if you haven't already
cordial pleasantries
