@n84 Found this interesting article. Herman Miller built a factory in Bath in 1977 and were there for nearly 40 years.
I would think your best option would be to contact Herman Miller.
Is there a label on the chair? If so it would be interesting to see it.

"One threatened never to specify Herman Miller products if not chosen."
Lol! Reminds me of Monty Python's "Architect Sketch"!
@tktoo2. Thanks for that. Forgot to add the link!!
Oh silly me.

Hi all, thanks everyone for your responses and link to the article, that narrows it down, it would seem the bath factory was completed in 76 so that gives me a start date to production. The Eames chair or rather the ottoman has a metal ‘Herman Miller Bath’ label on it which is not a label I’ve ever seen before. will add a photo on Monday,
thanks again!
@n84, Ditto. New one on me and I'm not likely to see another here in the States.
Curious about which bases are on this set, though. Over here, one can immediately recognize Vitra iterations (which do occasionally pop up) by their bases.
@alonat, If true, one must assume it was meant as humor.
If not, I'd have sent them packing tout de suite.
