How to find out
Jake, the best way to find out if your chair color is rare is tricky and a lil bit tedious. I have heard people mention that the book Eames Design lists all the years and colors produced etc, but I have not actually seen the book so I do not know for sure.
Each year Herman Miller put out a certain number of standard colors, and a certain number of special order colors. To find out if your chair is rare, you should have an estimate of what year it was produced - and try to find Herman Miller catalogs from that range. Dealers who specialize in Mid Century may be able to help you out here. If you've got a local place I recommend asking them if they have the catalogs.
