The complete CSH book  

Good question...
hard to say without the dimensions but I sure HOPE it's not the same one that I paid THREE TIMES that for. As an arm-chair architecture fan, this book was GREAT for my "self-guided" tour since it has all the addresses listed. Great resource.

Reprint by Taschen. I borrowed my friends original copy. Great book - definitely going to pick it up when it comes out.

Do not judge a book by its title
The discounted book shares the title to the twenty pound original, but alas little of the contents. The definitive book is large format and heavy.
If you want to avoid confusion use the ISBN when searching for the original rather than the title.
I have not used the abridged version but I imagine it just skims the surface.

If this is true I am interested. Honestly I wouldn't mind a smaller version. The big one is great for large photos, but ti is so big and heavy it's almost a coffee table itself, rather than a coffee table book. Book of this size are a pain to use IMO.

According to Amazon this would be the "non-jumbo" edition. Page count is the same, and no-where does the description say "abridged".
Most annoyingly is that Amazon seems to be pulling reviews from OTHER books and putting them under the Jumbo edition review. I read a half dozen reviews describing the book as wimpy, shallow, and unimpressive before I caught the mistake - they were all talking about the $10 Taschen paperback book.

God, I hope that's not the same one I just bought (like 4 four months ago). I can't imagine they'd be able to sell that mammoth for only $40...that said, the description states that it's a "special bestseller price"...so it's possible, I suppose.
