I am in the market for a coat rack. I have no hall closet so right now guest coats get laid on the bed which is not ideal especially with cats who like to lay on them. I would prefer a free standing coat rack. I am open to some suggestions. I have seen a coat rack in the past that I really liked but have no idea who made it. This particular coat rack had what appeared to be a tulip base (though I think it was some color other than white), and at the very top the actual coat hooks jutted out at various angles and had multi-color balls on the end. The top basically reminded me of the Eames Hang It All mixed with a sputnik lamp. Anyone ever seen this coat rack, or know who designed it?
If that coat rack is a no-go, are there any coat racks out there that utilize a tulip base? I want something with a sleek modern look. I think most coat racks are very tacky looking. It's hard finding one that isn't an eyesore. Thanks!
Castelli Planta
I have a Castelli Planta in black and I love it.
The way the hooks are designed on it does not put undue strain on coats or jackets and the hooks can also accomodate hangers if you wish. I am including a link that contains a photos and you can find other photos by searching "Castelli Planta" This one is designed by Giancarlo Piretti.

I have pretty well settled...
I have pretty well settled on the Castelli Planta coat rack. I like how the hooks and umbrella part fold into the stand when not in use. I would like to locate it in the red color but that color seems to be a bit hard to find. If I am unable to locate the red version, then I will probably settle for the black version. If anyone has any leads on where I might locate the red version of the Planta coat stand, I'd be most appreciative.
