just out from the sollo rago auction
would you love to find this lamp at a flee market and give 50 bucks for it?
cause hold on to your hats it is windy !!!!! this Donald Densky lamp sold for $138,000
Personal opinion I think it is ugly
and i told you Paul Evans is the hottest of all this city scape sold for a modest $190,000
I don't know about paying 190 for it but i do think it is wonderful
oh how nice to be rich
My friend with clocks
also had a pair of those Desky lamps, and they were just about the most beautiful, precious Art Deco lamps of the 1930's. They were simply beautiful. He sold the pair for $10,000.00 in about 1986 to Fifty-50 in NYC.
They're not my style of collecting passion, but it's not rock science to see real design beauty.
By the way, the Desky lamp is suppose to have frosted glass panels and the silver finish was glossy shiny. They looked almost hand made.
Regarding Paul Evans, it's also not my cuppa tea, but I appreciate how original and clever his stuff was.
sollo ragao Libertyville...
sollo ragao Libertyville nj is where the Gio Ponti made by Singer was acution off at.
I think i would leap off a one story building if i though i killed a fat hog on ebay for 19.000.00 while some other sophisticate sold it for 190,000 thousand dollars at auction, I guess it pays to be informed but don't you know that happens all the time,
Some boys around here found a rare Karl Springer wall mount buffet for 50 bucks had enough brains to send it to auction in Chicago cause they knew no one around these parts would give them much and they ended up getting 15,000 dollars.
