The front is glued on, try...
The front is glued on, try to use a big needle to loosen one of the corners.
If you are carefully and lucky, you might get it of without breaking the plate.
Tear of the fabric and foam. The outer back is stapled on, same procedure with foam and fabric. Be careful not to bend the plates. Use thicker foam on the sitting side than the outside.
What fabric are you gonna use? Thicker than original or thinner?
We use a "mold?" when upholstring these models to get the fabric Nice and tight. Only on the inside piece. The outside thighten itself bending outwards..
Hope this made some sence 🙂

I have a picture, but cant...
I have a picture, but cant upload it on ipad. But the mould is a piece of wood. Ca. 30cm long, 10cm wide and 6cm thick. I havent measured it 🙂
The top is cut like a "U", so it is concave, about half the way through.
The upholsteyplate is fixed with 3-4 staples in the bottom, then the fabric is mounted. Then after its carefully removed, the plate will "straighten" out, making the fabric smooth and thight without wrinkles.
Hope it makes some sence.
When you remove the old plates, make sure to draw a copy on some paper/cardboard or new wood, in case it breaks. Maybe take pictures when you disemble the parts as well.
Its definetly a hard model to work on, especially when you reuse the parts.
I am nervous every time i staple on the outer back plate because it is so easy to split the wood with the staples.
If you want i can make a drawing/take a picture for you..
